Meet Bridget Churchill, Clinical Educator and Occupational Therapist at Spex Seating
Bridget Churchill (B.OccTher, MBA) qualified as an Occupational Therapist (OT) in 2000 at Stellenbosch University in South Africa before moving to the UK. Her clinical background includes physical, cognitive and postural interventions with adults and older adults, with various diagnoses, including: mental-health, medical, neurological (CVA, ABI, TBI, progressive conditions, disorders of consciousness), cardiac, respiratory and orthopaedic conditions. With her work within acute, residential and community-based environments she has experienced the continuum of the therapy pathway and the importance of creating a seamless journey for the service-users as they progress towards their personal goals. She has a special interest in postural care and has been a Clinical Educator for Spex Ltd since 2018 across their international markets, where she has had the opportunity to become more involved with younger cohorts. Early and timely intervention is key to preventing secondary postural complications.
She has presented internationally (RSA, UK, KSA) and holds professional Occupational Therapy memberships in the USA, UK and RSA. She is ambitious for herself and those she works with. She is driven and passionate about living life to the fullest and making the most of every opportunity, which she hopes to share with her clients and colleagues by inspiring, teaching and learning. She believes that collaboration with her clients and their multi-disciplinary team members are pivotal to underpinning client success and their achieving a good quality of life.
