The Spex Head Support Pad range has recently been updated in design, and the newest versions are now constructed from an aluminium shell covered by an injection moulded polyurethane foam to ensure a smooth and comfortable support surface. 

The family of head support shapes have been geometrically and biomechanically updated to give greater support and stability for head positioning for wheelchair users.

Afonso lives with his mother and family in Portugal. He has been in a wheelchair for most of his life due to a condition called Global Delay of Psycho Motor Development in the context of Neuro-Axonal dystrophy. This is a rare inherited neurological disorder which affects part of a nerve cell that carries messages from the brain to other parts of the body, and causes progressive loss of vision, muscular control, and mental skills. Maintaining a correct posture is fundamental for Afonso to ensure his trunk and head position is supported.

To increase function of the Spex Lateral Trunk Supports, two new mounting bracket options have been created, and are now available for scripting.

These include both shorter than normal (for mounting laterals closer to the user's trunk) and one longer than normal (for mounting laterals further away from the client).
