Meet Rowena Anasarias-Dumo, Manufacturing Manager at Spex Seating

As our Manufacturing Manager, Rowena Anasarias-Dumo handles the production of Spex – specialist modular wheelchair seating – in its entirety, along with all our warehouse and logistics operations.

It’s Rowena’s personal mission to transform our business into a world-class manufacturer of customised seating. With a Bachelor of Science in the field of engineering, and undergraduate Masteral Degree in Engineering Management and training as a Project Management Professional (PMP) practitioner and in Six Sigma and Lean Management, coupled with extensive experience, there is no doubt Rowena is well placed to make her mission a reality.

Rowena’s stand-out career as a production engineer and manager has taken her from the Philippines to Singapore where she was posted to Hamamatsu, Japan; Indonesia; Malaysia and Shanghai, China, before she relocated to New Zealand.

Here Rowena was originally based in Auckland at a company where she started as a planner, moved to production engineer and then production manager, before heading south to Canterbury to join the Spex team in her critical manufacturing role.

Rowena credits her experiences in both lean manufacturing and different fields of manufacturing, including semiconductor, electronic and dairy packaging, for helping to develop her desire to create the best possible seating for our clients. That and her endless drive for continuous improvement, alongside project management skills second to none.

Unsurprisingly, the desire to push the boundaries doesn’t end with Rowena’s work day. It’s a part of who she is as a person – one who runs marathons and mountain bikes in her spare time.
