Spex Lateral Trunk Supports are available with comfortable padded covers designed to protect the user from hard surfaces around the support pad.

For enhanced protection and easier access to the swing-away release, the Spex Lateral Trunk Support Easy Pull Cover is also available. Its extended neoprene construction wraps around the lateral mechanism to help shield the user’s arms and skin from hardware. This is especially relevant for users with athetoid, involuntary or uncontrolled arm movements.

The integrated, length-adjustable pull strap has a large thumb or finger ring, making the lateral release easier to locate, grip and operate. Suitable users may be able to independently release and swing the lateral pad away before their own wheelchair transfers, reducing reliance on caregiver assistance. The feature can also be used by caregivers and clinical teams during transfers or seating adjustments.

The cover uses robust materials and construction to support durability, wear resistance and long-term performance under repeated use. For current compatible Spex Comfy Cover users, an Easy Pull retrofit strap is available.
